We appointed Dairy Veterinary Consultancy to lead a project in conjunction with our Arla producer group to promote better herd health management. After agreeing a plan and a timetable, Owen used his veterinary knowledge coupled with a great communication style to deliver just what was required for this project.
Our series of Wynnstay Calf Signals meetings run in association with Dairy Veterinary Consultancy were a great success. Owen’s practical experience and ability to listen and empathise with farmers’ problems made the meetings very popular.

We asked Dairy Veterinary Consultancy to develop veterinary training modules and help devise simple, practical materials for farmers and vets, to help identify areas of improvement in the dry cow group. Owen was able to exploit his considerable experience of how to apply successful knowledge transfer skills in both these tasks, enabling vets to work more effectively with their farmer clients in transition cow management.
I have known Owen for many years, initially as a vet for my own herd, and subsequently when he worked on an Arla/Morrisons Herd Health project. He is good at translating technical information into a language farmers easily understand, and sets an example for how vets can bring real value to dairy producers.
Owen is an extremely professional, reliable and user-friendly expert witness who provided written reports and attended a mediation in relation to a multi-party litigation. His writing style is excellent: he explains complex issues clearly in his reports which provided invaluable assistance to us. I would not hesitate to instruct him again.
We asked Dairy Veterinary Consultancy to develop a practical bespoke mobility score system in conjunction with ourselves and design a training package suitable for our staff. Owen took time to understand our requirements and delivered a solution which absolutely fulfilled the brief.
